I don’t remember when I first came across Noah. Probably one of their beautiful caps — shallow (how I like them).
It just feels like they’ve been around longer than they actually have — and that’s no bad thing.
When I dug a little deeper into the brand, I found a message I could get behind. They stand firmly against mass production and fast fashion — not just because the quality suffers, but because the people making the clothes often get the worst end of the deal. I know that kind of messaging can feel like it’s being rammed down our throats, but honestly, maybe it needs to be. Once you appreciate what goes into good clothing, it’s worth being reminded that quality costs — and that cost should reflect fair pay and dignity for those making it.
Based in SoHo, New York, Noah couldn’t really be anywhere else. It’s surrounded by people and brands that, on paper, it could easily be lumped in with — the kind that reference Ivy staples or heritage Americana. They could just churn out what we’ve already seen from Brooks Brothers, Ralph Lauren, or J.Crew. But they don’t. And that’s what I like about Noah.
You can still spot those influences, but the pieces come with subtle shifts — unexpected fabrics, a bolder colour, a tweak in proportion — just enough to give the classics a bit of an edge.
Their latest arrivals for Spring/Summer 2025 really caught my attention — a strong showing of classic American sportswear and casualwear, very Ivy-friendly, of course. One piece that stood out straight away was a beautiful seersucker suit.
For those already in the know, it’s the kind of essential that doesn’t need explaining. For those just getting there — welcome. This is a proper summer staple: made in Italy from 100% cotton seersucker sourced from Zanieri, it’s light, breathable, and cut just right. It’s unstructured, with two patch pockets at the front, a patch chest pocket, and a classic notch lapel. There’s a two-button closure, a single vent, and just enough lining to keep it comfortable without losing that airy feel. It’s Ivy with a bit more ease — something you could throw on with a T-shirt or dress up with a button-down and loafers.
Then there are the matching trousers. Noah’s really thought about the details here, and one in particular stood out to me: they come with their own removable belt, made from the same fabric. It’s one of those things where you think, why don’t we see this more often? No need to find a belt that matches, or fork out more money for one — it’s already sorted. A simple, clever addition that makes the whole thing feel that bit more considered.
Being a bit of a button-down nerd, I was pretty chuffed when Noah sent me one of their striped Oxford shirts. Do I need another one? Oh yes — what are you thinking? Of course I do. But this one has a detail that’s a bit of a game-changer for me: a pen pocket on the sleeve.
It’s a subtle touch, but it shifts the shirt’s character ever so slightly. It turns it from pure Ivy staple into something that also nods to American workwear — the kind of shirt a blue-collar worker might’ve worn, practical and hard-wearing.
And this one’s certainly built to last: made in Portugal from a heavyweight 100% cotton Oxford cloth, with a full button-front, a button-down collar, back pleats, and adjustable cuffs. Every feature on a proper Oxford shirt has a reason behind it — we all know the story of polo players and button-down collars — and here, Noah’s added to that history, not reinvented it, just given it a new little twist to keep things moving.
I think it’s important that brands do things like this. Most people aren’t going to buy a shirt just because it has a pen pocket — and fair enough. But for someone like me, who notices those small details, it’s exactly the kind of thing that makes a shirt stand out. We’ve all got the classics already: button-down collar, back pleat, locker loop. So why not make a new classic? Why not add something we haven’t really seen before?
It’s a small touch, sure, but for the menswear nerds among us, it’s the kind of thing that catches your eye — and sticks with you. I think it’s extremely cool.
There’s loads of great stuff in Noah’s latest drop, and honestly, I’m just excited to see what’s next. They capture exactly the kind of look I dream of — something like walking through the Lower East Side on a hot summer’s day, in one of their caps, a striped shirt, chinos, and loafers. You really can’t go wrong. What I love is that they don’t just recreate the classics — they enhance them and keep them alive. These are thoughtful garments in every sense: thoughtfully made, thoughtfully designed. And that’s the kind of brand I want to invest in. If you haven’t checked out Noah before, now’s a pretty good time to start.
